Living on Mission – The Gentle Act of Embracing

Living on Mission – The Gentle Act of Embracing

Our passage this week is all about God making a way to bring “insiders” and “outsiders” into relationship with Him and with each other through Jesus. He tore down the walls separating Jews and Gentiles from Him and from one anther. Our gentle act is to do the same.

Do we view people who don’t know Jesus yet as outsiders? Do we keep our distance? Do we treat those who have a relationship with Jesus differently? Do we love them more? Do we think they’re more worthy of our love and attention?

We can gently love and embrace all people, no matter where they stand with God. This is how Jesus lived, and He wants us to do the same. Loving people is His mission.

Also, let’s dispense with the idea that we can do this on our own. We simply cannot live on mission alone. To join in the mission of God, we have to do it together. Together with Him. Together with one another. He put us together in His Body, so I need you and you need me.

Let’s practice Living on Mission through the Gentle Act of embracing one another.
