pray it: gentle in our time: ephesians 2:11-22

Throughout Scripture we find examples of both personal prayer and corporate prayer.  Both are important in the lives of Christ-followers.  This week, as we prepare our hearts and minds for this Sunday's message, how should we "pray it," then?  The question holds the answer:  WE!  If corporate prayer (praying together, in unity) is not something you have ever tried before, I strongly urge you to consider trying it out!

Catch up on this week's Scripture here:  Ephesians 2:11-22.

Gentleness is not a personality trait for the Christian.  It is evidence that must be shown corporately.  As we continue on in our wonderful Ephesians passage, in our pursuit of gentleness in the manner of Jesus, Paul emphasizes both the importance of and the necessity of unity in the lives of believers.  Verses 21 and 22 are particularly powerful:  "In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.  And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit."

Built together.

God never intended for us to be Lone Ranger Christians.  He intended for us to have a relationship with Him and relationships with other believers.  There is power in numbers, and consequently, there is power when the collective Body of Christ comes together and exhibits corporate gentleness in the manner of Jesus.

This week's challenge:  come together!  Be a church-goer and ask God to help you commit to Sundays at 10am!  Consider Thursday night's PoC|Coverage or Sunday morning's pre-service prayer at 9:30a.m.  Let us pray together.  Absolutely no way to make either of those work?  Consider connecting up with a few of your fellow PoC'ers throughout the week, catch up with each other, and then pray it up together over someone or something that God has placed upon your heart.

Acts 1:14 They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.

PoC|Coverage is tonight at 6pm!  It's the easiest way to make a difference and the easiest way to get connected.

Blessings,
Pastor Celia
